Whatte fest?

Majestic, grand, splendid! No word is enough to describe the greatness of 'Pandora', a four day long youth festival held on 26th to 29th of April at Dayanand Sagar Institute of Engineering, organized by the prestigious VTU. Around 170 colleges took part in the fest and the total number of events ranged from 100-150. While giving an inside knowledge about the arrangement and preparation of Pandora, Principal Netaji Ganesh explained that the institute was just a host. All the events of the fest, the schedule and rules and regulations were organized by VTU. Amongst the guests, HR head and board member of Infosys, Mr. Mohan Das Pai, was invited to witness the talent and capability of the budding engineers of D.S.I., along with other renowned figures to judge the competitive events.

The fest had something for everyone, catering to everyone's interests ranging from brain storming sessions like literary quiz to music events. Some of the major events that garnered a huge crowd were slow drag, stunt show, street dance, western group song, theatre and lots of other events. Street dance alone drew a crowd of 12000 people and participants from all over the country whereas for all bike lovers, slow drag was not merely a competition but a challenge where everyone wanted to prove their skill.
Udipan Sarmah, a final year electrical engineering student from Mysore, describes the grandeur of Pandora in his own words, "For the first time I feel nervous about performing because of the huge competition,” he admits.
But of course the icing on the cake for Pandora was the musical night by Raghu Dixit which brought out the musical spirit in all engineering students." Pandora is a fest for the students. Even its name has been coined by a student who was awarded a cash prize of Rs.5000 for coming up with unique title," says Principal Netaji. Pandora is an extravaganza with a budget of Rs. 95 lakhs which makes it a show that can't be missed out.
