SPIEL, an inter collegiate sports tournament that attempts to forge friendships through sportsmanship was the talk of the town for the last few days. The event which just concluded was a major hit among students. Mount carmel college girls, reigned supreme in throwball and table tennis. The other titles in this season's first inter-collegiate sports festival involving bangalore university colleges went to hosts sjcc (men's football), sri bhagawan mahaveer jain college (men's and women's basketball), st joseph's pre-university college (cricket), jyothi nivas college (softball) and Mes kishore kendra (table tennis). 128 teams from 35 colleges took part in this event - kgf first grade college being the lone outsider displayed their wares in 120 different matches. The students council made it a bit different when it came to prizes, by giving away acrylic fibre creations.
